Simply a smarter, healthier way to dine!” Rick Freedman is the founder and creator of Picazzo’s.  In 2002, Freedman created the concept of Picazzo’s, which was developed and created in Sedona, AZ. It soon expanded due to how successful it was in Sedona and moved outward to other parts of the state. As it was a fast start to begin with, eight years later Picazzo’s restaurants now have as many as 11 other locations. These other locations include Casa Grande, Goodyear, Lake Havasu, Paradise Valley, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Surprise, Tempe and Tucson, and of course the one here in Flagstaff. In order to provide a healthier choice Picazzo’s provides a Gluten-Free menu. There is a change going on as well with their menu is going organic and natural to keep preservatives at a low and has hormone free meats. With this new change brings a new dining experience as Picazzo’s now supports local, green, organic and sustainable practices. This creates more local fresh ingredients that are natural and organic.

Picazzo’s GO Movement is about focusing on Organic products. This creates customers with healthier food, eco-management of products and sustainable practices. Within the active campaign, Picazzo’s intentions are to create community synergy, take action, support local efforts, and educate the community on organic and green living. According to Picazzo’s website, it states, “GO strives to educate, promote, contribute and encourage active involvement and understanding of Green principals and Organic living.” This movement is to strive to educate, promote and encourage active involvement and understanding regarding Green principals as well as Organic living. As a way to stay active in the Green Movement, Picazzo’s now uses recycled paper products and biodegradable foot containers. Along with purchasing from local producers and vendors, this limits the amount of gas used to transport foods and goods and also puts money into the hands of local farmers. Picazzo’s restaurants are members and supporters of some local organizations such as Local First Arizona, Generation Health Arizona, Sustainable Forest Initiative and much more.
